Injured Blue Heron Stuck In Waterway Saved By DC Officials

D.C. Fire and EMS sent a fireboat crew to rescue a blue heron in need, officials said.

Multiple animal control officers got into the water near Chain Bridge on August 4, in order to put the heron in a net and bring the bird to safety, according to D.C. Fire and EMS.

Officials said this is the fifth time the fireboats were deployed to rescue animals along the D.C. waterways.
